Job Description

The Production Cable Assembler position is responsible for light mechanical assembly and/or soldering of cable assemblies. Assemblers are responsible to measure and cut cable to required length using cable cutters. Assemblers are also responsible for assembling/soldering the pieces of components of a product and/or joining the components into a whole product using point to point wiring instructions. This position reports directly to the Machine Shop Manager.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, job order traveler, job order pick list and interpret shop drawings.
• Build to assembly standards in terms of quantity and quality.
• Use hand tools (i.e., soldering instruments, drills, saws, wrenches, etc).
• Repair and rework cable assemblies as required.
• Work at different workstation as production needs require or shift from one station to another during assembly process.
• Follow and adhere to all company and departmental procedures and policies.
• Communicate with managers, peers, and subordinates on a routine basis.
• Completes documentation timely and accurately.
• Promptly reports to supervisor all observations that are relevant to ensure a safe and efficient operation in the department.
• Uses good judgment in performing tasks correctly the first time through.
• Provides input to help improve the performance of the department.
• Maintain tools and measuring instruments supply by company.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment (may require sweeping, mopping, trash removal)
• Observe company safety rules and regulations.
• Fulfill other tasks as requested and assigned by management.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift/ move up to 50 pounds of material without assistance. Ability to lift over 50 pounds with assistance from others
• Ability to crouch, bend or stand for long periods of time
• Ability to perform hand and wrist assembly involving repetitive motion
• Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced
• Good manual dexterity required to work with both small and large parts

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and other manufacturing information.
• Basic mechanical, math, and computer skills
• Vocational training, or equivalent experience

Must be authorized to work in USA, must have clear background, must be able to pass a drug screening

Monday-Friday 7am-4:30pm
