Are you ready to dive into the beverage industry? Join Martignetti Companies as a Sales Development Intern and take advantage of an incredible opportunity for personal and professional growth with the largest distributor of wine and spirits in New England.

In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience learning about distribution, merchandising our brands, sales processes, and the technologies that drive our business.

As an intern, you’ll participate in a training program to develop foundational skills including in-depth industry knowledge, product expertise, merchandising standards, sales techniques, technology platforms, and business analysis. You’ll also have the chance to work with other interns to share experiences, ask questions, and learn best practices.

Program Information:

  • Location : This internship requires travel throughout a sales territory and regular in-person meetings at our Taunton, MA location.
  • Duration : June to August (approximately 10 weeks)
  • Schedule : Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Compensation : $18.00 per hour
  • Mileage reimbursement : Provided for work-related travel

Key Accountabilities

  • Time Management: Arrive on time and effectively manage your schedule and responsibilities.
  • Communication: Engage with managers, customers, and internal teams.
  • Enhance product visibility on shelves, in cold boxes, and in on premise accounts.
  • Work closely with Sales Representatives and merchandising teams to ensure proper product inventory for shelf, counter, cold box, and floor displays.
  • Follow supplier guidelines and standards and maintain brand integrity in all displays and promotions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with store managers and customers; sharing brand and product insights when needed.
Requirements:

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities :

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to quickly learn product and brand information and sales techniques.
  • Flexibility with scheduling and a willingness to adapt as needed.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • A positive, enthusiastic team player with a drive for success.

Education/Experience/Training :

  • Candidate must possess a valid Massachusetts driver’s license, registration, and reliable access to a car to transport marketing material.
  • Candidate must be a current college/university student seeking internship opportunities.

Physical Requirements :

  • Regular lifting of objects up to 25 lbs. and occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
  • Frequent standing and walking throughout the day.
  • Tasks require focus and mental concentration.
  • Travel to customer locations and exposure to weather conditions.
