Job Description

As a Picker/Packer you will play a critical role in the fulfillment process by accurately selecting and packing merchandise for shipping to customers. Working in a mid to fastpaced environment you will use handheld devices and picking equipment to locate retrieve items according to customer orders or store requirements. Your attention to detail efficiency and commitment to quality will ensure that orders are fulfilled accurately and promptly.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Order Picking:

Use handheld devices or picking lists to locate and select merchandise from designated storage locations within the warehouse.

Navigate through aisles and storage racks to retrieve items efficiently ensuring accuracy and completeness of each order.

Verify product details quantities and quality before packing to ensure customer satisfaction.

2. Product Packaging:

Pack merchandise securely and appropriately for shipping using packaging materials such as boxes bubble wrap and packing materials.

Label packages with shipping information barcodes and tracking numbers.

Ensure that packages are sealed properly to prevent damage during transit.

3. Quality Control:

Inspect merchandise for any defects damages or discrepancies before packing and report any issues to supervisors.

Follow quality control procedures to maintain high standards of product quality and customer satisfaction.

Handle items with care to prevent breakage or damage during packing and shipping.

4. Inventory Management:

Update inventory records in the warehouse management system to reflect items picked and packed for shipment.

Communicate any inventory discrepancies or shortages to supervisors for resolution.

Assist in conducting regular cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain accurate inventory levels.

5. Safety and Compliance:

Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries in the warehouse.

Operate picking equipment and machinery safely and responsibly.

Follow company policies and procedures regarding workplace safety security and regulatory compliance.

6. Team Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with other warehouse associates and team members to achieve daily picking and packing targets.

Communicate effectively with supervisors and managers to coordinate tasks resolve issues and ensure efficient workflow.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous experience in warehouse operations order picking or packing is advantageous.

Familiarity with handheld devices and warehouse management systems is desirable.

Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and maneuver bulky items using appropriate equipment.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in picking and packing merchandise.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and maneuver items using appropriate equipment.

Physical agility to bend stoop reach and stand for extended periods.

Working Conditions:

Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.

Use of warehouse equipment and machinery including picking devices and packing stations.

Interaction with team members supervisors and delivery personnel throughout the shift.

Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 5 pm (must be open to weekends overtime and holidays as required)
