A Day in the Life of the National Account Manager - The Home Depot The National Account Manager - The Home Depot is responsible for directly managing the assigned account (The Home Depot), driving sales growth, and maintaining strong customer relationships. This position acts as the primary liaison with customer organization, ensures service excellence, and works with the Senior Manager to set and achieve annual sales and profit goals. What are the requirements for this position? Bachelor's degree in a related field (MBA preferred). Minimum of five years' sales and management experience. Travel required (~10%-20%). Job Responsibilities: Drives annual sales growth for The Home Depot Cultivates and maintains relationships across all customer organization levels. Develops and executes strategies, account plans, and product selections. Manages product launches and program performance across categories. Collaborate with customer to plan annual reviews and establish optimized product mixes. Leads business planning efforts, ensuring alignment with customer goals. Attends and actively participates in customer meetings and trainings. Provides field insights through store visits to inform customer strategies. Ensures accuracy in forecasts through collaboration with internal and customer forecasting teams. Resolves excess and discontinued product challenges, maintaining inventory efficiency. Coordinates closely with support departments (Sales, Marketing, Logistics) to meet customer expectations. Conducts market research to stay informed on industry trends. Submits timely reports and analysis to Senior Management. Manages assigned budgets effectively.
