We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and passionate Farm Operations Manager to join our dynamic team in the Manufacturing industry. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in crop production, planting time, water preparation, land preparation, planting schedule, and seed production. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in the industry and a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities it presents. This role requires a strong leader with the ability to oversee all aspects of our farm operations, ensuring that our practices are sustainable, efficient, and profitable.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage all farming operations, including crop production, land and water preparation, planting schedules, and seed production.
2. Develop and implement strategic plans to increase productivity while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
3. Monitor all aspects of the farm to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
4. Train, supervise, and manage farm staff, ensuring they are performing their duties efficiently and safely.
5. Coordinate with other departments within the company to ensure smooth operations and consistent communication.
6. Maintain detailed records of crops, including planting, harvesting, and yield data.
7. Implement and maintain safety procedures to ensure the wellbeing of all staff.
8. Regularly inspect equipment and machinery to ensure proper function and arrange for repairs or replacements as necessary.
9. Stay updated on current trends and advancements in the farming industry, implementing new technologies and practices as appropriate.
10. Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and local communities to support farm operations.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Farm Manager or similar role in the Manufacturing industry.
2. Extensive knowledge of crop production, planting time, water preparation, land preparation, planting schedule, and seed production.
3. Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and supervise a team.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively.
5. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
7. Knowledge of state and federal farming regulations and safety standards.
8. Proficiency in using modern farming machinery and equipment.
9. Ability to work in various weather conditions and to perform physically demanding tasks.
10. Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Farm Management, or related field is preferred.
